Ceramic Care & Use Guide
Thank you for choosing a handmade piece from LaQuay Ceramics. Each item is thoughtfully crafted and one-of-a-kind. With proper care, your ceramic piece will last for many years and become part of your everyday rituals.
Food & Drink Safety
All functional pieces are glazed with non-toxic, food-safe materials and are safe for everyday use.
Microwave & Temperature
Microwave use is generally safe, but ceramics may become hot — please handle with care. Avoid sudden temperature changes. Do not move pieces directly from the refrigerator to the microwave or oven, as this may cause cracking.
Dishwasher & Cleaning
Dishwasher safe on the top rack, but gentle hand washing is recommended to preserve the glaze and surface over time. Avoid harsh detergents, steel wool, or abrasive sponges that may scratch or dull the finish.
Oven & Direct Heat
Unless specifically labeled as oven-safe: Do not place ceramics in the oven or on the stovetop. Always use a trivet or heat-safe surface under hot items.
Natural Variations
Because each piece is handmade, variations in shape, color, and glaze are natural and celebrated. These details make your piece truly unique.
Wear Over Time Fine glaze lines (called “crazing”) may develop naturally with age and use. This does not affect food safety.* If a piece becomes chipped or cracked, discontinue use for food and repurpose it as décor or a planter.
Storage Tips
Stack carefully with a soft cloth or felt between pieces to prevent scratching. Avoid overcrowding shelves to reduce the risk of accidental damage.
